THE PRESENTATION OF THE LORD
The Presentation of the Lord, recounted in the Gospel
of Luke, is the story of the infant Jesus and his
parents meeting the elderly Simeon and Anna in the
Temple in Jerusalem. This year, the Presentation of
the Lord is on First Saturday. There will be a Mass
in Engish at 9 a.m. and a Mass in Polish at 11 a.m.

WORLD DAY FOR CONSECRATED LIFE
In 1997, Pope Saint John Paul II instituted a day of
prayer for women and men in consecrated life.
This celebration is attached to the Feast of the
Presentation of the Lord on February 2nd, the day on
which candles are blessed symbolizing Christ who is the light of the world. So too, those in consecrated life are called to reflect the light of Jesus Christ to all peoples. The celebration of World Day for Consecrated Life is transferred to the following Sunday in order to highlight the gift of consecrated persons for the whole Church.

WORLD YOUTH DAY 2019
World Youth Day (WYD) is a worldwide encounter with the Pope which is typically celebrated every three years in a different country. The next World Youth Day will be held in Panama City, Panama from January 22nd to 27th, 2019. WYD is open to all young people who want to take part in an encounter with their contemporaries centered on Jesus Christ. This event is an opportunity to experience in first person the universality of the Church; to share with the whole world the hope of many young people who want to commit themselves to Christ.

PARISH GATHERING – February 2
On Saturday, February 2 at 4 p.m. there will be a gathering in the parish hall during which we will celebrate February birthdays: Mrs. Helena Bujak and others. Please bring salads and desserts, or your favorite dish. We invite all parishioners and friends.
